ALL NATURAL LAMB
BORN, RAISED, LOVED, AND HARVESTED HERE AT SIEBEN LIVE STOCK
ABOUT OUR LAMB
Sieben Live Stock All Natural Lamb is produced from Sieben Live Stock-bred ewes who graze on native grasses throughout the spring, summer and fall and eat Sieben Live Stock- grown hay in the winter months. Grain is supplemented during lambing and while lambs are nursing.
Our ewes come from Targhee stock, a breed developed for western range conditions-- hardy, fast-growing, good mothers with quality wool.
Lambs from these ewes are weaned in September, having spent the summer grazing on mountain pastures. We finish our select Sieben Live Stock lambs on excellent quality alfalfa pellets and nutritionally dense hay. Our lambs consistently have a high proportion of lean meat.
The percent of chilled carcass weight that is recovered from the original live animal weight is called “dressing percent.” The normal range is approximately 45-52 percent in lamb.
Sieben Live Stock lamb is available direct from the ranch from October-January. Our lambs generally have a “live weight” between 120-140 lbs when ready for the freezer. Lambs are sold on a carcass weight basis at $6.50 per pound ($7.25 per pound for half lamb orders). We are asking for a deposit of $50 at the time of ordering. We will bill you for the final payment. We ask that you order early and we will work with you on the delivery date.
Our lambs are processed at Cascade Meats in Cascade, Montana. We will arrange for delivery to you in Helena, Great Falls and Bozeman. Outside this area, we will arrange to have your lamb shipped and will add shipping costs to your final bill.
To calculate your approximate cost (depending on the weight of th lamb), use the formula below and multiply “carcass weight” times $6.50:
65 lbs x $6.50= $422.50 (approximate cost of 130 lb. live animal)
